The immediate feeling is that of sadness – that jobs are going to be lost and along with it, many dreams dashed.

The allure of a steady job has proven to be just a mirage – since the financial crash of 2008.

For those who are able to find replacement jobs within a short time frame, it will be just a brief set-back. However, for many, it is going to be some tough road ahead.  We wish all former employees of FUTURE SHOP well that they will be able to find their way back to financial well-being.

Just want to mention that in the current economic climate, keep in mind 3 important points :

1) Jobs can be so temporal in nature – come today, gone tomorrow.

2) Remember to build relationships in whichever path you take and not just the pay check alone. In many cases, it is the relationships you build that will help carry over to your next journey.

3) Have more than 1 source of income. Finding a job is just 1 way of earning a living. Be open minded to explore other income sources. Speaking of which, we just want to share about exploring the possibility of entrepreneurship. We do not propose to write a long essay here, suffice to say that it requires determination, discipline and hard work – not a get rich quick proposition. We left the IT industry 4 years ago and now runs an online business covering North America, Asia Pacific and recently, the European Union. Drop us a note and we will be glad to help.

Once again – to the former employees of FUTURE SHOP, some of whom we know personally, God Bless.
